Introduction
Inscribe the future on the Extended UTXO & PoW Layer1 Blockchain - Nervos CKB.
What is the Omiga Protocol?
Omiga CKB Inscription is an innovative inscription protocol established on the CKB (Common Knowledge Base) blockchain. Meticulously designed the project to break from tradition and provide users with a fairer, more efficient inscription minting and management experience.
Why are we building Omiga?
CKB has faced criticism for the lack of native token assets on the chain over the past few years. The creation of native assets can act as a leverage and accelerator for the emergence of applications on L1, similar to how asset creation was a prerequisite for the explosion of the Ethereum ecosystem with the ICO of Ethereum. The CKB community is not lacking in consensus, and perhaps we can gather the entire community’s consensus to promote the formation of even one asset and attract more people to join. The creation of consensus requires fairness, and with the current trend of BTC inscriptions, as a public chain that continues the Vision of Satoshi Nakamoto, it would be appropriate to start with inscriptions distributed fairly as an asset creation mechanism.
What’s the significance of Omiga for CKB?
Omiga’s significance for CKB lies in driving more usage of L1 on-chain states, which will lock in more CKB. Omiga will exist as an open protocol rather than a closed one, and we hope that more teams will use Omiga for their own projects. We will not prevent others from using the Omiga protocol, and we hope that the Omiga inscription can serve as a starting point for the formation of an ecosystem. At the same time, we will maintain close cooperation with other CKB L1 protocols.
Why use Omiga?
As a monetary system, Bitcoin is inherently layered. But what should a Bitcoin monetary layer 2 look like? It should be an integral part of the entire system, sharing the same foundational values and design decisions. CKB is the ideal monetary layer 2 for Bitcoin. CKB shares Bitcoin values, e.g. PoW not PoS, UTXO not Account, decentralization over TPS, no issuance manipulation, etc. With Cell, an extended UTXO model, CKB can provides more decentralized use cases for Bitcoiners while maintaining a consistent user and developer experience.
Imagine operating CKB applications with a Bitcoin wallet, rotating addresses for privacy, and managing UTXOs under dust limit / minimum capacity constraints - all underpinned by the same foundational principles. There are more application scenarios between CKB and Bitcoin, and it can naturally integrate with Bitcoin's 「 L1 」 to form a larger ecosystem.
Why is CKB Inscription special
PoW + Extended UTXO CKB
continues the spirit of Satoshi Nakamoto, adopting the PoW + Extended UTXO (Cell) architecture, bringing a more flexible, more scalable blockchain experience to users. Built on top of CKB, the Omiga protocol not only enjoys the security of L1 but can also flexibly implement combinatory innovations.
Fairer Mint
We have introduced a completely fair inscription minting mechanism. A fairer mint means that all participants can get a share, and everyone splits the quota at the end. At the same time, we ensure that you only pay fees for the successful transactions, you will no longer pay expensive fees for failed mints.
Native Inscription Mechanism
Omiga provides a completely native inscription mechanism, with inscriptions written on the chain in CKB as the pricing unit. It supports fusion and melting, making the minting and management of tokens more flexible and efficient.
Full On-Chain Verification
Based on the extended UTXO model (Cell), Omiga has achieved full on-chain verification without relying on a centralized indexer, facilitating subsequent integration with other projects in the Nervos ecosystem, such as depositing into Godwoken’s AMM or playing full-chain Defi through Axon.
Turing Completeness
The Omiga protocol supports Turing-complete contracts. The issued inscriptions can have Utility properties and are not just pure Meme tokens.
Fully compatible with xUDT
xUDT (Extensible User Defined Token) is an extension based on Simple UDT, which supports defining more features、behaviors and rules on the basis of UDT to meet potential future needs. The inscriptions minted through the Omiga protocol are fully compatible with xUDT.
